Gareth Cambridge was the toast of Cobh on Sun night when he secured Rams first win of the season. Rams started the way they were going to continue and put it up to Finn Harps early on with a number of good chances by forwards Brian McCarthy, Graham Cummins and midfielder John Kearney, a strong candidate for man of the match.

Indeed Kearney and Shane Barrett dominated midfield to such an extent that Ramblers could well have won by more with good support also by overlapping full backs Alan Carey and John Meade.

Gareth Cambridge however always looked dangerous and this proved the case on 36 min when a cross from an in swinging corner was met at the back post by Cambridge and headed firmly into the Harps net to put Rams one up.

The second half saw Harps come more into the game but good defensive work by James McCarthy in goal and a solid defensive partnership of Kevin Murray and Kenny Coleman held out to record Rams first win of the 2007 campaign. Overall Ramblers were good value for the win against a strong Harps side.
