Finn Harps progressed in the Eircom League cup thanks to a 2-0 victory in the "Donegal Derby" game against Fanad United.

Harps gave starts to several fringe players but started brightly putting the visitors under pressure in the first half. But the Fanad men stood firm, and Harps best chance came from the penalty spot, but Seamus Browne saw his strike saved by Darren Nash.

However, just after the restart Harps took the lead with the again impressive Sean Holmes firing home clinicaly after a lapse in the Fanad defence.

Substitute Conor Gethins made sure of the victory with ten minutes remaining scoring a delightful lob following great approach play by Stephen Parkhouse.
