Harps announce High Profile Celtic Friendly.

Glasgow Celtic will give their thousands of Donegal fans a treat on Bank Holiday Monday the 6 th of August as they have agreed to provide opposition for Finn Harps at Finn Park, Ballybofey, with a Kick off time of 7.30pm.
The Hoops have agreed to field a Celtic Eleven against the Harps. As the SPL season commences with a home game against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park on August 5 th , Celtic have the opportunity to fly in a number of players after the league game, and intend to field as strong a side as possible.
The Glasgow side are expected to fly in for the match on Sunday evening / Monday morning.
Finn Harps Chairman, John Campbell has expressed delight at the announcement. ‘This is something we have been working on for quite a while, and we are delighted that Celtic have agreed to facilitate us especially as the SPL season will be just commencing. Donegal and Glasgow have strong connections, and this is most visible in the weekly busloads that travel to watch Celtic play.'
Finn Harps manager Paul Hegarty is also looking forward to the fixture adding “It's great to see Celtic coming, Donegal is full of Celtic fans and it will be a great occasion, great for the club and great for Donegal.”
Celtic sides have played at Finn Park on 5 occasions. Many Celtic legends have graced the Finn Park turf, including Jimmy Johnstone, Kenny Dalglish, Danny McGrain, Bobby Lennox, and Packie Bonner. Indeed, Charlie Nicholas played his last game for Celtic at Finn Park before his move to Arsenal.
