Finn Harps v St. Johnstone – Friendly Fixture – Finn Park, Sunday 22 nd July 2007 – kick-off 7.00pm
by Joe Doherty
Finn Harps play the first of two friendly fixtures against Scottish opposition when they take on Scottish First Division side St. Johnstone at Finn Park on Sunday evening next, 22 nd July. The Saints are managed by former Republic of Ireland striker Owen Coyle. They are bringing a full strength side to Finn Park ahead of the new Scottish League season which gets underway in just three weeks time.
Harps Manager Paul Hegarty is likely to use the game to give some of his squad members a run out. New signing Paddy McLaughlin is likely to play some part in the game as he seeks to get as much match practice as possible after his signing from Irish League side Institute earlier this week. Another player who could play some part in the game is midfielder Michael Funston who has returned to training with the squad again after missing the last three months through injury.
The next time that Harps will host a Scottish side is when they welcome Celtic to Ballybofey on Bank Holiday Monday, 6 th August. Ticket for that game can be purchased at this fixture.
Sunday's game at Finn Park kicks-off at 7.00pm.
